Stewart out to show Burnley fans what he can

BLACKBURN Rovers loanee Cameron Stewart is determined to finally show the Burnley fans what he can do tomorrow – after being restricted to only two starts during his spell at Turf Moor earlier in the season.

Stewart joined Rovers on loan from Hull at the beginning of the month, having spent the first half of the season on loan at Burnley.

But he was largely a substitute under Eddie Howe and then did not feature at all in the two months after Sean Dyche arrived as manager.

“I think I started two games while I was at Burnley, and one of those was away,” Stewart said.

“I don’t think the fans there will really know what I’m about. There’s a lot more that they haven’t seen.

“I’m desperate to show everybody what I can do.

“It’s been a long season and a frustrating season.”

Stewart’s time at Burnley meant that as soon as he arrived at Ewood Park people were quick to mention the upcoming derby match.

“When I played my first game I had a bit of banter from the fans on the way into the ground and theway out!” he said. “I think they’re all looking forward to the big derby day.

“It will be a bit of a weird one, starting the season at one club and ending it at another one.

“But I’ll be looking forward to the game because it’s a big derby and everyone enjoys the derby games. It was frustrating, not playing at Hull and then going to Burnley. I thought it was going to start off well and then it was frustrating again.

“But that’s football, managers change things and now I’m here and I can hopefully get myself going again.”

Stewart has had to sit out Rovers’ the FA Cup matches against Millwall because he was cup-tied but he is available again and is set to start in tomorrow’s derby having made two appearances since signing for the club.

Stewart may have some inside information on Rovers’ rivals ahead of tomorrow’s game but knows boss Michael Appleton will already have done his homework.

“If the gaffer asks me I would obviously tell him what I know,” said the former Manchester United youngster.

“But I’m sure he’ll have his own preparations planned!”

I do wish these players would stop mouthing off before games. Experience has shown it all comes to nothing!

You say the Burnley fans have'nt really seen what you are about - the Rovers fans have'nt either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!
Its about time these players did their talking on the field instead of embarrassing themselves in the press.
OUT WITH THE LOT OF THEM

BFC fans going to the home of football ...a reminder to go to bed early tonight....and don't forget to set your alarm clocks ( they wake you up in the morning ) for an early start tomorrow.

You could be making history......a result v BRFC for the first time in how long?

They are mouthing off on both sides whilst the managers are getting their excuses ready. It will either be a really dire game with no goals or some ridiculous scoreline for one of the teams and one down to 10 men. There's nothing more sure though, whoever wins, the seasons has already fizzled out for both teams and possibly one dropping out altogether

Tomorrow will change everything or change nothing.

A dire draw or an embarrassing defeat could be the difference between Appleton's future looking threatened or not. A win whilst keeping fans happy and our record intact may lead to nothing changing in the hierarchy, though it could give the team a much needed boost in spirits as well.

I for one don't ever want to see our record broken, and in truth itS all thats left to play for this season but it looking more and more like theres little else we can do to improve the state of the current squad with so many loanees hardly having time to settle into the squad to make that vital difference - barring a wholesale firesale on our out-moded squad, not that there will be many takers.

Next season would be a lot more hopeful if we could see the wood for the trees but I honestly don't believe now we can expect anything different next season, fighting mid-table mediocrity against the constant threat of administration should Venkys leave.

I guess we can only hope tomorrow's win can somehow change our fortunes around and we start winning games again.

Many will stay from Ewood tomorrow with the rubbish football played right now lying bottom of the Championship some of these players should put thier heads in the sand.
Rovers have players on Premiership wages more than many clubs in this league.
Dunn a sicknote didn't contribute much in this season
Rhodes just a overated player in Championship
Pederson a player too old and out of form
Murphy should hang up his boots
Etuhu a rubbish buy not fit to wear a Blackburn Rovers shirt
Scott Dann a player not very consistent and makes too many mistakes in defence
Goodwillie not good enough to play in English League
Best didn't contribute anything this season
why did Appleton loaned out Ruben Rochina a player with talent to unlock any defence
Olsson twins, Hanley, Henley, Lowe, Kean, King our best talented future players and Kazim Richard strong and player with pace and eye for goals.
Get rid of this overated ovepaid players this season and buy some young talented players for promotion to PL.

Lying bottom? What are you on about Patel, we are 19th currently with 2 games in hand. When we win and I mean WHEN we will be level on points with the Dingles and 13th if we win by two clear goals.
Try to get your facts right Dave, sorry Patel...
We will beat the Dingles in'shallah
Oh and btw anyone up to Derby in 12 th could still be relegated as there is only 6 points in it from Peterboro in 22nd place so it aint just Rovers at risk
Still it would never do to let facts get in the way of a good scare story...

@Dangerous Dingle Dave, let us suppose that we can actually throw them all out ( and by your rants even the tea lady is on borrowed time now)
Then what, who will we get in to fill all the vacancies?
With no owners to pay the wages who will we get..kind of a massive hole in your plan methinks..
But joined up thinking is probably beyond you, perhaps they could change your meds, that might help a bit

There's a reason why Burnley binned you off Stewart and that's becuase you aren't very good. Pitiful display from you today: amazed that master tactician Appleton didn't swap you instead of Best.
