HALF TIME: Blackburn Rovers 0 Millwall 1

BLACKBURN Rovers trail to a Danny Shittu goal at half time in tonight’s FA Cup quarter final replay at home to Millwall.

Lions defender Shittu headed home a Chris Taylor corner in the 42nd minute to leave Rovers having to come from behind in the second half if they are to reach a semi final against Wigan at Wembley.

The match had been relatively even before that as neither side could carve out many clear cut chances.

Leon Best saw a shot deflected wide for Rovers before David Dunn came close to finding the far corner with a clever effort from the edge of the box from a Morten Gamst Pedersen short corner.

But Rob Hulse then headed just wide for Millwall as keeper Jake Kean was stranded off his line attempting to claim a deep cross from Shane Lowry.

Taylor then fired an angled shot wide and saw another effort deflected into the side netting before providing the delivery for Shittu to put Millwall in front.

looks like going out on a wimper, players should be embarrased with themselves, this team couldnt score against the womens football team,

appleton could have freshened things up but insisted on playing tired players and players whose hardly played all season

Abysmal performance. When the opposition have a centre half as big as shittu... What you don't do is play long balls in his direction!!!! That is exactly what we did for 90minutes!!!! Shocking tactics from, what a now believe to be a very inept and poor manager. He is not the answer for us, however, I fear with our clear lack of quality in the squad, there is worse to come. Sad days

I have watched both FA cup games on ESPN and now know why we are mid table in the Championship. Comments from commentators about longball game and lac of finesse was there for alto see in adundance. Sundays game was the worst game have eer seen Rovers play and I assumed that at home things would be alot better......... how wrong I was and sad to say with the current crop of players and a manager obviously bereft of tactical nouse we will be in the lower leagues for quite some while. Any positives from the 2 games ? None at all and guess what the Dingles are up on Sunday and if we lose that then the six fingered brigade will have a field day.

When are you clowns going to realise that until the buffoons running the club have gone Blackburn Rovers is going nowhere. Wake up to the fact that relegation is quickly looming. We need another 8 points to survive - we don't even look like scoring a goal.
Appleton has already proved what he is - totally unproven and frankly out of his depth. See how an experienced manager like Billy Davies is doing at Forest. But hey ho lets try and do it on the cheap.

rovers should have come out of the traps flying, sharp to the ball and their passing and movement,smothering millwall gamwe plan, instead of starting on the front foot, appleton sent them out nervy as heck, a shattered team playing with the handbrake on, none of the players were the same wavelength as the other, who'll want to play for this manager, who plays dinosaur football who bores everyone with his outdated tactics

Been a rovers fan for over 30 and I have to say that ,for the first time ever,I laughed my fookin head off tonight.
I have never seen anything as bad as that.that bad it was funny.
A blessing in disguise that we didn't make the semi.
Players like Jason Lowe,Hanley( pig farmer) , Pederson, Olsson,Best,Dann can't even pass a ball.utter sthi.

I know we aren't giving service but a player worth 8 million plus should surely make some of his own chances too. Overrated me thinks

Followed rovers since 79 seen some bad games in the third division seen some mediocre games in the 2nd division, seen lacklustre games in the 1st
But never seen such an embarrassment as this current bunch

What an absolute shambles we have become. I thought we were dire on Sunday - even though MA thought we were magnificent - but tonight I thought we were even worse. Maybe being out of the cup is a blessing in disguise, because since we beat Arsenal, we've been nothing short of shocking. I think maybe the players thought they were better than what they are, maybe the manager too.

The first thing they need to do tomorrow, is have a look at the league table and wake up to the fact that we are only SIX POINTS FROM THE BOTTOM. We have two local derbies, followed by two difficult away games. Failure to win any of these games, and you can't rule that out, will put us in serious danger of relegation.

but the vital question is can he process the info out there which is plain to see for all and come up with an action plan and see us through to the end of this season and beyond....!

I doubt it.....!!!

A new set of youngish, hard working, physically fit, skillfull Midfielders required at BRFC.

Pederson is just too slow PLZ retire
Dunn is just too fat...PLZ retire..!


Hanley is slow but tries his utmost to do a decent job.
His thinking is also slow and hes simply not good enough as a 1st team player but ok to have in BRFC squad.

Lowe is slow slow but tries his utmost
best & should be ok as a squad member and occasional sub but not 1st team material in my view.

Marcus olson is like a fairy lightweight
only need to blow on him and he falls

Murthy, Etuhu, Orr, Givet, Robinson
and any other casing BRFC issues should leave asap
so we can buy players who will play for the BRFC badge....!
not just here for money....!!

Dann is not the ideal captain
Infact we have no captain at BRFC
hence we need to find a strong central defensive partner for Dann who could be a potential captain.
or
a midfield general who we need as a captain.....for sure...!!

Have to agree with most of your statement, except on Dunn. He was by far out best player today and Sunday and he was probably not even fully fit. He gave his all. As for the rest, here's my take:

Dann - Good defender (most of the time). Tried to imitate Daniel Agger tonight but gave the ball away by hoofing it everytime!

Hanley - Again good defender, but not technical in the slightest. Him and Dann should play it simple and they'd be a good solid partnership.

Olsson & King, please go. No effort whatsoever. No fight.

Murphy & Ethuhu - Over the hill and overpaid. Please leave.

Pedersen - A favourite of mine, but clearly not good enough anymore.

Jordan Rhodes - A class act. I fear he'll leave in the summer. Destined for better things.

CKR & Leon Best - Hard workers for the most part. I feel Best plays best on the flank as a wide / inside forward. Hoof ball will not help theirs, or Rhodes' game.

Appleton - After these last 4/5 games I'm now leaning towards he's out his depth. These last 2 games he got the formation wrong, and the tactics wrong. Did he change them? No. He does not seem to react to our failings. I would not have said sacking ANOTHER manager was the right thing to do a few weeks ago, but if this is how we're going to play next year (if we even stay up) we have NO chance of promotion.

- you're one of the the biggest tw@ts of all of em - you pretend to be a "life-long Rovers fan" but you were one of the group of people who were involved in the original "CONSPIRICY" to disable & de-stable BFRC so you could gain fancially from the instability (which you have done) - don't you worry Paul - there are many of us out there that know what you did - and who you did it with.
