Blackburn Rovers still waiting on injured players

BLACKBURN Rovers boss Michael Appleton does not expect any of his injured players to return for tomorrow’s trip to Bolton Wanderers.

Appleton is likely to make changes to the team that lost 3-2 at home to Peterborough on Saturday but revealed this morning that none of his injury list are currently ready to play.

Leon Best is scheduled to be back in training this week after suffering a reaction on his return from a long-term knee injury, but the likes of Josh King, Lee Williamson, Colin Kazim-Richards, Dickson Etuhu and Martin Olsson still remain sidelined.

“Not one of the injured lads has trained yet so it’s a little bit too soon for them,” Appleton said.

Leon Best - Josh King - Lee Williamson - Colin Kazim-Richards - Dickson Etuhu and Martin Olsson would all be in contention to start tomorrow if fit....that is the challenge MA faces in putting a decent side out tomorrow against an quickly improving Bolton team. He may be forced to include Murphy again - though not sure that even Danny Murphy wants that - never mind the fans. Surely the Jones Boy will start or get at least half a game? Scoreline tomorrow - I would settle for a point right now and a clean sheet but will be difficult against a free-scoring Wanderers side.

facts and figures.....!!! approx.

it would cost at least 35-50 M to buy BRFC,.....??????

To get us out of Championship it would cost at least 20- 30 M to get the players to achieve promotion
3- 5m for a decent player at least
and we need at least 6 players

and
it would cost at least 40-60 M to run a decent team in premiership
around 5 -7m - per player
and we would need 6-7...!!

and every year you'd have to spend atleast 10 -15 M to stay in Prem.

Anyone out there got that sort of money...??
Anyone know anyone with that amount
willing to invest in BRFC...?

One thing for sure No honest /real businessman would bother....!!!

our 'Uncle Jack Walker' did it but he didnt do it for the money
he did it because he was a fan
he was a supporter of BRFC
he gave all he got for his beloved BRFC.

Anyone out there willing and able to give some support and love to our BRFC these days.....!!!...??

We never had Best this year so no loss there. King played a couple of matches pre his injury, looked good but can hardly say hes a world beater. Etuhu would NOT be in the starting lineup if he was fit, hes been out of favour for some time. Ollson fair enough and we might aswell have Barry White upfront as CKR.

For me King & Ollson are missing, that is all.

i personally go to the games when i'm not working....but you cant keep on blaming fans for being disappointed and staying away....money is tight for a lot of people and when you see 11 men on the field not doing what they're pay VERY well to do then you start thinking, about other things that may be more important.... for-instance, if you paid multi thousands of pounds for a car and it didn't work, you wouldn't be a happy bunny, we've gone from a mid table premier league team to a team that in reality are a mid table championship team at best, and i personally don't think that fact will change in the near future (i hope i'm wrong)....Mr Jack Walker, like you say wasn't in it for the money...the man had blue blood...it's just a pitty the sell-outs in charge of the walkers trust didn't have the same passion their namesake had....i know it's been said before but i blame the walkers trust and the Venkys for the situation our club finds itself in.....it took a long time to get where we did and a lot of hard work from people the Venkys thought fit to get rid of....and mark my words it'll be a long time yet until we're anywhere close to where we've been....God Bless Jack walker and out with the Venkys.....COYB

Hi RPC....yes keeping well thank you and you too I hope.

And yes we have dome well against the wanderers when least expected, I remember once (quite a few years ago) being on holiday down in Devon (unfortunately during the season) and watching the match in a pub that weirdly had small tv sets fixed into the wall at the end of each of the dining tables, so you could have a pint and a meal and watch the match through the salt and pepper pots. Rovers were away at Bolton in a midweek game and won 4-1, the rest of the diners thought I was mad shouting and cheering as each goal went in....so yes anything is possible with the Rovers!

I don't care how many players Appleton has got injured tomorrow, Danny Murphy and Bradley Orr should never wear a Rovers shirt again. Jones showed more in 45 minutes than Murphy has shown all season. He needs to start and I would rather have him in the centre of midfield with a member of the under 8's team than Murphy. It's fine for Appleton to talk about exorcisms in one breath then bemoan injuries in the next. The team at Bolton tomorrow will say a wealth about Appleton, stick to his convictions and drop Orr and Murphy or play them and lose every ounce of credibility.

Not sure about Appelton, is he any good? Suppose we have to give him a chance, but not over enthusiastic about any of his loan signings, like everybody else surprised he didn't bring in a decent midfield, which should have been his priority. Hopefully this lad Jones will add some much needed quality to the midfield.

Agree with the calls about Dunny, all his career he has been better than Murphy when they have come up against each other. A half fit Dunny is better than Murphy. Why have some of the successful youth squad not been given a chance, surely they are as good as some of these loan signings. Kean, Hanley and Henley have all done very well, why not some of the others?

Still don't agree with the calls for Givet, far too slow, one match in and responsible for both goals. Although Dann is a strange one, sometimes he's excellent, other times he has a nightmare, nothing in between.

There have been far too many ordinary players paid far too much, some them on weird contracts, not just for the last year, but for the last 4 years.

nornally managers that do well have had success at other clubs, before , the last two managers that took up rovers to the premier league, had won trophies of their own as players and managers and brought rovers the only trophies in recent memory, managers who have been round the block can pass on the know-how of what it take to be at the top of the table and stay there, they have the name and the charisma to bring in better footballers that you normally wouldnt expect to get

Drop all these deadwoods likes of Murphy Campbell Orr Bentley and Pederson.
I thought Rovers had 38 players in the current squads. So only 11 players are good enough to play rest are just journeymen ?
Good players likes of Olsson ,Richards ,King and Williamson are all injured .
Loan players did a better job than Murphy Bentley and Campbell on Saturday against Peterbrough.
Venkys dock their pay until they give 110% or sack them give them P45.

You can't even beat us and we're the worst side in the Championship.
We're going down unless there's a big improvement-we must be averaging two shots on target per game since Appleton took over. The last few weeks have since utter rubbish at home and away. Let's look on the bright side, Burnley won't be beating us for the foreseeable future if we do go down and we'll have a good local derby against PNE. Well done Shaw, another brilliant appointment.
