My husband recently had to attend the Alexandra Hospital for a minor operation involving an overnight stay.
Owing to the pressure on beds, he and several others had quite a long wait, and during this time staff at all levels were unfailingly patient, caring and explained what was happening (very important when you are anxious anyway). We are both in our 80s and rely on being able to get to our excellent hospital under our own steam without having to impose costs on our overstretched ambulance service.
