Blackburn Rovers in talks over Kazim-Richards deal

Colin Kazim-Richards
BLACKBURN Rovers are attempting to conclude a permanent deal for Colin Kazim-Richards before the transfer window closes tomorrow after agreeing a fee with Galatasaray.
Kazim-Richards joined Rovers on loan in the summer and the club remain baffled at continuing reports in Turkey that Bursaspor are confident of signing the 26-year-old.
Rovers boss Michael Appleton is aiming to make three or four signings before the transfer window shuts at 11pm tomorrow, and wants one of those to be a permanent deal for Kazim-Richards.
Rovers have had a bid accepted by the Turkish side, thought to be between £500,000 and £750,000, and are now in talks with the player’s representatives.
The club are hopeful of finalising a four-year deal for the forward and Kazim-Richards said last week that he is happy to stay at Rovers after telling his parent club earlier this month that he did not want to cut his loan short.
Figures at Ewood Park are now waiting for owners Venky’s to give the green light over personal terms as they aim to finalise a deal.
Sources in Turkey continue to suggest that Bursaspor remain hopeful of signing Kazim-Richards, but Rovers have still heard nothing from Galatasaray about possible rival interest.
The agency representing the player have distanced themselves from quotes supposedly suggesting Kazim-Richards was on his way to Bursaspor, who yesterday signed defender Anton Ferdinand on loan from QPR.
In any case, the terms of Kazim-Richards’ season-long loan at Ewood mean Rovers would have to give permission for the deal to be cut short early.
Even if Kazim-Richards signs, Appleton remains keen to bring in a right winger before the deadline after Josh King suffered a recurrence of his hamstring injury in Saturday’s 3-0 win at Derby.
The Norwegian could potentially be out for a number of weeks. One player likely to leave Rovers today though is midfielder Diogo Rosado, who looks set to return to Portugal to join Benfica on loan.
The 22-year-old has made only three appearances since moving to Ewood from Benfica’s Lisbon rivals Sporting in the summer.
- Rovers’ FA Cup fifth round tie at Arsenal will take place on Saturday, February 16 at 3pm. The game has not been selected for live television.

Loans are a safer bet now, in case we fork out good money for "3 or 4 players" and they turn out to be flops.
Good luck to Rosado, struggled with the physicality of the league when given game time.
CKR deal made permanent is good business, hope it goes through. I still feel adding Marlon King would be useful, just in case Best re-injures himself on his return.
Bentley would be open to a move, but his wages are £50,000 a week. If he is loaned in then Spurs will need to pay a good chunk (up to 50%) of his wages.

Having said that I agree with the posts about getting players in on loan instead of buying in the transfer window, very few really good players move in the January window, if they are any good their clubs want to keep them. Look at the modest lot we got last year!

Another who is being cheeky is Andy Cryer, has Appleton actually said he would count this as one of the potential 3-4 sigings? If there is no quote then don't make assumptions. Also for those getting worked up Appleton has said if he can't bring in the players he wants then he won't bring in others who are available for the sake of it so potentially there may be no signings. Just be patient and wait and see.

Plays for the shirt every time(we all have a off day from time to time)
Whenever I've witnessed him plying his trade for the B&W's - no problem, and he can score a goal or two too.
No more comfort zones for these players anymore with the new Sports Scientist in place. Players will respond to positive input thus, we, as supporters will see the benefits over the course of time. Good enough.
Bring in Bentley should that be possible ? A quality individual that will ramp up the game for BRFC. Good enough.
Lots of activity down at the good ship Ewood looking mostly positive for the way forward. Good enough.
I would be more concerned if it was stagnant and dull, but it isn't. Good enough.
Let the professionals go about their business, and we the supporter, go about our business of supporting. Good enough.
Out on the pitch is when the real business commences then we can all have our point of view. Good enough.
He scores when he wants, he scores when he wants - Jordan Rhodes, he scores when he wants. Good enough.
Looking forward to a good match Saturday now that O'Driscoll as got them organized, and we can give Mr. Cryer some stick at 16.50hrs either way. Good enough.
Should Robbo leave then he goes with my good wishes. He deserves respect for his time down at the good ship Ewood. Never hides and knew of the supporters hurt. Good enough.
Just a thought or two folks. Good enough.

I don't believe you fully understand the depth of feeling and hurt that Venky have caused to many, many thousands of supporters of BRFC that go way back generations with your bombastic approach to this volatile situation for all concerned ?
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was not theoretical but one of pragmatism something Venky should heed, in my humble opinion ?
I doubt very much that he would best pleased at Venky's near destruction of a 136 year old institution that serves it's local community with distinction ?
So I ask this - when Venky begins the process of viewing BRFC as a bedrock of it's local community, and not only a business the process of criticism, in the main, will cease.
'With great power comes great responsibility' as stated and attributed to Francois -Marie Arouet aka Voltaire.
This is a view, if not articulated by many, many Blackburn Rovers supporters. Owners they maybe, but we are the guardians of our club, which in itself should never be underestimated by any owner of a cherished and vital institution.
In my view concerning the 'snowball' incident I have great respect for the husband, who took the incident, and figuratively speaking, at face value. This in my book goes a long way to building bridges with the disenchanted and disenfranchised supporters. I hope that this will see an end to the wholesale hostility with this incident ? For it is not that I condone the action, but wholly understand why it happened, and in the bigger scheme of things can be thankful that it appears to be the end result of two years of utter mismanagement.
So, India is beginning the process of becoming, in your words, a economic superpower thus I pose the question; are the owners of this football club able to carry forward that of the 136 year history that served US so well ?

I always count Rovers fans as some of the most level headed and with a good understanding of the whole football package.
Do your sums , players sold - players bought. You'll see a plus total. Further evidence of asset stripping. Appletons here to overseas signing of cheap / free players who might be half decent while the big earners or those with a view are slowly got rid of.
Why can't others see it?

Venkys want BRFC back in Premier league asap.
I think Singh appointment was bad for the club as there are only 14,000 fans coming to Ewood Park. The lost of 10,000 fans as we know are they really BRFC fans ? or other fans fom Man Utd,Man City,Spurs,Liverpool are just coming to Ewood Park to watch Premier League football on the cheap.
Venkys need a cult hero like Shearer ,Garner or Sutton to take Singh job to win over fans.Singh and Hendry must be sacked as more and morefans are staying away.Football is an entertaining industry, to fill the theatre which is half empty every week.Venky must live up to their promises and carry this club forward that served the people of Blackburn/Darwen and other part of East Lancashire well over 136 years of history. Arte et Labore ( by skill and hard work)
Venky must spend or sell up there are other Indian Billionaires are intrested in buying BRFC.India has more Billionaires than Europe and Japan. With 200 billionaires India second largest Bilionaires after USA.
Remember Venkys only bought this graet club because of large Indian populaion in Blackburn/Darwen about 30,000 .Indian population of around 1.2 million mostlly live in London,Leicester,Bir
mingham,Kirklees,Bla
ckburn,Bolton,Manche
ster,Preston and Leeds.
I would have lke the richest ten INdian Billionaires
Mukesh Ambani richest man in India and the Fifth richest man in the world
woth £24 Billion
Laxmi Mittal richest man in UK worth £17.5 Billion owner of QPR FC
Hinduja Brothers worth £8.6 billion
Pallonji Mistry worth £8 Billion
Premji worth £8 billion
Dilip Shangvi £8 billion
Adi Godrej £6 Bllion
Jindal fmily £6 billion
Ravi Ruia worth £6 Billion
Kumar Birla £6 Billion

Let hope so as the Boardroom and Appleton did say the owners are ambitious.

The Shebby Singh appointment was one of many disappointing decisions thrust upon Blackburn Rovers Football Club, which possibly compounded an already fraught situation resulting in the now well documented saga ?
I would surmise that each individual(supporter
) have their own threshold or tolerance to this situation, and in that, again, I would surmise, a certain % could very well be that which we term 'plastic supporter' ? But, I would hazard a guess here that the vast majority who have remained steadfast in staying from Ewood are/were dedicated, ardent supporters of BRFC ?
Who can really say what the actual reason is for abstaining, but it is fair to say that the utter shambles that as developed down at Ewood as most certainly not helped this situation that OUR club finds itself in ?
The bigger question remains - can Venky ever encourage these missing folk back ? Is it that the good folk of East Lancashire really wish to see money thrown at BRFC or is that they just wish to see a pragmatic approach or a down to earth approach that upholds the good name of BRFC ?
Your assertion that Venky acquired BRFC due to the towns large Indian population is wild, and suggests with the figures you give - 30,000, that these people would automatically descend onto Ewood Park thus alienating a vast majority of long time supporters which, even in the minds of Venky, would be a disaster for the town and its populace creating division ? So, I would say with some confidence that Venky did not acquire BRFC on that basis.
Venky have arrived at the realization that throwing money at football is no guarantee to success. Only an astute business man, such as the likes of the late J.Walker, deriving from the town, could really understand the workings of a club such as BRFC with his vast knowledge, along with being a dyed in the wool supporter, was able to achieve the great success that he brought to the town under the banner BRFC with aplomb. Again, for those that you mention above(the billionaires of India) do not arrive at that stature by venturing into a world that they do not understand thus squandering their hard earned(and I say that loosely) money.
Venky are learning a harsh lesson, and throw into this the unrest they have caused then it is fair to say they have to rectify this fine mess we fine ourselves in, whilst all the time, the Billionaires of India are watching closely this unfolding mess, in turn receiving free and priceless information that could very well lead to that which you allude to ?
For the sake of our club I truly hope that Venkys do learn from this baptism of fire, and stand by their word of upholding BRFC to that which the good folk expect it's club to be represented ?

Laxmi Mittal the richest man in UK worth £17.5 Billion owns QPR,right now QPR is lying bottom of table in Prmier League and i dont think Mittal's vast fortune would save QPR from being relegated this season.
Venky did promise BRFC that they would spend beetween £10 to £15 milion on transfer funds on new players every season.
There are only two clubs where these billionaires are spending their vast wealth the Seikh at Man City and Ambromovich at Chelsea the rest of the clubs like Fulham,Southhampton,
Notting Forrest,Hull,Sunderl
and,Birmingham city,Leicester city,Watford their foreign billionaire owners are not spending crazy and break their bank. It's up to their owners if they want to spend crazy or spend wisely.
