Lowe: Wins are just around corner for Blackburn Rovers

JASON Lowe insists victories will come soon if Blackburn Rovers continue to perform like they did against Brighton on Tuesday.

Michael Appleton looked set to record his first win as Rovers boss against the Seagulls, only for the visitors to equalise from the penalty spot deep into stoppage time.

That was a real setback for Rovers but Lowe says there is reason for optimism if they can retain the same performance levels – starting in today’s FA Cup fourth round tie at Derby.

“It felt like a defeat,” he said about the Brighton game.

“But we are back in work and focusing on getting to the next round of the cup.

“There is a lot of spirit in the dressing room and we are confident of what we can do. If we can put performances in like that, we are confident we will get the right results.

“In the Charlton game we didn’t create enough chances or have enough energy. We did that very, very well against Brighton.

“You have a game plan and sometimes you get it right and sometimes you don’t. You have off days at the office and some days you are bang at it. I thought we were bang at it.

“The main stat was not what we wanted but I am sure it will be if we perform week in and week out like that.”

Lowe is expected to fill in at right back today, with Chelsea refusing to give Rovers permission to field loan defender Todd Kane in the FA Cup.
