They are the Blackburn board who sit where Jack Walker once turned his local club into Premier League champions (with a little help from his chequebook, Kenny Dalglish, Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton).

The Venky’s company, we are told by Wikipedia, are an ‘Indian company that specialises in chicken and meat processing and pharmaceutical products for both poultry and human usage’.

Well, they’ve got to be good at something, because when it comes to managing football clubs they appear to be USELESS.

Ranked by Forbes in 2000 as No67 in the 100 top global small companies, they have been at Blackburn since buying the club for £23million two years ago.

Since then they have sacked Sam Allardyce, when Blackburn were in a healthy mid-table Barclays Premier League position, Steve Kean (following relegation) and now Henning Berg, who won the title as a player but lasted 57 days.

They have taken the 1995 champions from the top league into 17th place in the Championship.

They don’t seem to know what they are doing at a proud club formed in 1875… and so they are added to our list.
And so say all of us! And so say all of us!

But who in their right mind would want to pay good money to buy the club with no leadership in the boardroom where they spend more time squabbling than work disgruntled supporters or those hardcore who have not left and dreary football which is dross after the Premiership feast we had before

Interesting article in Charlton's local rag from their striker openly admitting it was part of their tactics to frustrate Blackburn knowing the fans might turn, and that they heard the fans booing their own players and felt they could exploit that pressure, we are in danger of becoming the opposition s 12th man at every game and then we can kiss goodbye to the premiership

be careful what you wish for unless some fans have the money to buy the club. Rovers have struggled previously to sell the club before the Venkys bought.

Hope the match goes ahead tomorrow and isn't called off because of snow.. I've been looking forward to it as should be an exciting game. I think Bradford can do it, perhaps need one more goal. If it does get called off I can always watch Dave. Can'tsee anything else worth watching.. .

Ken Furphey said David Bradford would be the first million pound player.....well he wasn't! think we sold him to Sheffield United......I know Tony Field was sold to them.......looks like we'll be again selling to 2nd tier clubs very soon!!!...........Id settle for 3rd tier football again so long that Venkeys have sold up lock stock and barrel!

just to add.....They got a massive dilemma now……now that the cream has gone and TV monies is fast running out, Gates, Merchandise, corporate etc etc have at least been halved since they bought the club…….their thinking will be do we try to buy our way to the promised land (EPL) or do we stop all investment, hope to sell any remaining assets ie Rhodes etc (not many etcetera;-) and then pray Rovers don’t sink to a lower league before they can offload!

King out whilst there is talk of King coming in, Marlon King. Looking at Ruben and Kaz it may not actually be a bad move but what we are lacking is creativity and delivery from midfield as well as the obvious problems with the defence.

As someone else said, sell to who? Who would pay millions for a club with our fan base and find 4 million a month to keep the club going? There is not a cat in hells chance of selling the club, the sooner people realise this the better.

This deluded idea of fan ownership came from these trusts, who whilst initially well intentioned have now put a permanent block on any chance of stability.

We've already kissed goodbye to the PL, and we will never get anywhere near it ever again, as long as the Chicken Pluckers have anything to do with this once proud club.

I have to say when I read this I was not to uncomfortable with some of the early bits ( by the way if they had turned up in ford fiestas I think they would have got some real grief) but the last bit is really beginning to sound like a broken record, there simply is not the financial appetite amongst the fan base to take this on, the premiership last place prize money is 60 million why would they sell for 10 million. And as many have said who are we expecting to come in and buy us. I love my club and want it to do well and I am sorry full fan ownership in the modern game is unrealistic the budgets are too big and why would brist or brag be any better at finding new owners than the walkers were.

I dont believe that. I think other teams are using it as a reason now like ours use it as an excuse. It's too convenient for opposition to say we helped them to a win when actually it was that our team are c**p

Not sure that makes any sense what possible motive would Charlton's strikers have for going on record to say they tactically aimed to get the fans turning on their own players, it would have been a lot easier for him to suggest they were just better.

I have to say when I read this I was not to uncomfortable with some of the early bits ( by the way if they had turned up in ford fiestas I think they would have got some real grief) but the last bit is really beginning to sound like a broken record, there simply is not the financial appetite amongst the fan base to take this on, the premiership last place prize money is 60 million why would they sell for 10 million. And as many have said who are we expecting to come in and buy us. I love my club and want it to do well and I am sorry full fan ownership in the modern game is unrealistic the budgets are too big and why would brist or brag be any better at finding new owners than the walkers were.

Back to the story, we need someone up front pretty sharpish especially if Josh King is out for a few matches and Leon Best is not fit until the end of February. KCR is not the answer though he could be if he applied himself better and more consistently. So Appleton needs to get someone in PDQ. Rovers are one actually of the lowest scoring teams in the Championship and would be a lot further down the table without Rhodes goals...so if MA can get Marlon King in then I think he would be a good and much needed signing. Then he can concentrate on getting the center half and the midfielder we need so badly also..

For the game Tuesday night, then we have to beat Brighton to get things going forwards again...a draw is not enough. Toughest game at Ewood for a lot of reasons, so will be crucial to see how the players respond to the weekends fiasco (on and off the pitch).

I have criticized Venky's more than most but they seem at last to be putting a structure in place with Manager in charge therefore lets see how it goes Appleton is making all the right moves with fitness coach and scout. But surely Marlon King will get on well with Colin aka "The Orc" Hendry.

They've lots in common. Both are big strong men - well above average height and build - and both are partial to battering defenceless women. Just the qualities required for a club battling relegation.

Whether you like Venky's or not, they are the owners. And probably the best we can get at this time. Forget fans buyouts, it won't happen, and if it did would not be sustainable.
At this time we need to back the manager and the team, give him a chance to build for next seasons assault. For this season FA Cup success, to at least a decent round, is about the best we can hope for.

I'm a diehard Brighton fan and I read with great sadness the fall from grace of your club. You reached the pinnacle of success under Jack Walker's guidance and investment and with Shearer and Co were a breath of fresh air to the English game. It's always sad when a famous club falls from grace and personally, I think the risk is always greater when you sell out to overseas owners with buckets full of cash who have no appreciation of the heritage or history of great clubs such as yours.
We at Brighton also suffered. Not to an overseas investor ironically, but to a property mogul from Blackburn ironically, who bought the club for £52.00 as it was £1m in debt, and sold the ground to a property developer for £20m. That was it. 100 years of history demolished in one financial deal.
We survived by hook or by crook, coming within 20 minutes of losing our football league status and now are challenging for a place in the Premiership. The supporters saved The Albion along with our version of Jack Walker, Dick Knight. It's been a hard and long journey but believe me, as fans, you can achieve the impossible if you pull together.
Having said that, can you wait until after tonight as having thrown away 2 points at Birmingham, we desperately need all three tonight to get back into play-off contention.

By the way Chris Samba had a rolls royce that did not seem to upset to many people in Blackburn, infact he got done for speeding in it.

Look at the way Southampton fans got behind the team last night,despite what we would like we are stuck with the current set up for the present,protest and negativity is hurting the team's chances.Lets get behind the team and give them encouragement.
