to be honest i am not really bothered if he does go, Martin should be tearing this league apart with his skill and speed, for me he looks stuck in second gear at the moment, I can`t blame him but we need players giving their all for the shirt at the minute and I dont think he is.

Where does it say that it was announced? No statement from BRFC just an understanding from the Telegraph. It was reported this morning on Sky sports that West Ham had put a bid in, maybe the Telegraph have been following that up or maybe its just one huge conspiracy to sell everyone!

how do you infer all that from this story...?

This has happened at every club a million times before, one club tries to unsettle a player from another in the media. Same as we did with Rhodes.

Contracts mean nothing these days, if a player wants to leave he will leave, nothing anybody can do if Olsen wants to leave. If he goes, hopefully he will take his brother with him.

Big Sam is that lazy that we could send him Marcus instead of Martin and he would never notice the difference. That is why he gets his teams to kick the ball high in the air - so he can lie on his back and watch it without too much exertion....

Hahahahahaha, 2 million for a premier league fullback, try doubling it at least Jabba.

2 million?, thats chicken feed, need him for the campaigne ahead, forget the miserly offer,,its not even realistic, these so called bigger clubs think they can take the ****,,,up it to 5 million and you might have a small chance at the end of the season,

Bye, bye Martin. Buy one Ollie get a second one free ! Would you sell him for 2 million now or wait and pay his wages till the end of the season then sell him for less ?
No brainer, for cash strapped Rovers !

Olsen says on another thread today that he is 'focussed' on playing football. Nothing else. I posted that was code for come and get me. And so it will come to pass. Another player leaving for a pittance to get him off the wage bill. Will the other ex-premiership players form an orderly queue, please and then we can fill their places with kids and never-will-be's. Ah, well. We're getting well prepared for a long stay in the Championship, if we're lucky. Still there's always people prepared to pay to watch second rate fare , at best, as long as they have a blue and white shirt on. And that is what Venys are banking on.......

An unsettling shot across the bows to get Olsson to put in a transfer request like in the summer. Take the money and bring in Warnock a true left back. See if they want Marcus as well as his final.ball is awful. Warnock and Nunes on the left, proper job.

noddymcleod says...

Warnock was as out of position at left-back as often as Ollie, that's why Rovers sold him, why he never made it at England level and why even a struggling Villa are getting rid. Warnock was a better tackler than Ollie but nowhere near as quick.

Problem with that, Captain, is that Shabby has said you know, there will be no buys,, you know in this window, you know. Additionally, whoever bought and sold players without a manager in place? I do hate to be so pessimistic and doom-mongering on here, Captain, but I'm just so bloody fed up with these cowboys. Why the hell did they pick on us? For Gods sake, somebody cheer me up. What about a joke, Machievelli?

"The Lancashire Telegraph understand" (should read "understands" as there is only one LT - shame on you LT).

Now here is a tip for you - if the LT was only to rely on "official statements" these would be total nonsense as shebby (who seems to be the official spokesman) is quite capable of contradicting himself in the same sentence.

in what one assumes is an official statement from the club last week our great pooh-bah said we were not short staffed and there is no crisis at the club - QUACK! QUACK! QUACK! - if you really believe shebby, then i can only conclude that you are, actually shebby.

There are two caveat words in journalism one is "understand(s)" and the other is "believe(s)"

"understand(s)" - basically means the medium has been told from an reliable source about a story which is non-attributable, but nonetheless true. my guess would be that source would either be 1) rovers 2) olsson's agent 3) weztam

"believe(s)" - basically is a term of conjecture; where the LT is commenting on a story which they have heard which may, or may not, have any credence.

all the media use these two caveat words.

FYI - radio lancs is also reporting that rovers has turned down a bid from weztam.

Seriously koko, are you even a fan??

I can understand folks being down after two years of nonsense, you'd have to be more thick than thick skinned not to, but if you can't find anything positive to say at all about the club, the word "supporter" rings a bit odd - something even the dingles have pointed out recently.

Olsson is not for sale unless the offer is one that would be silly to refuse or Olsson himself makes the request that he wants to go. This is normal transfer business and its encouraging that the club has made it clear he's not for sale, which should make most clubs walk away. If West Ham really want him, let them 'beat down' Shebby's door with a price they know he would find hard to ignore.

Nothing conspiracious (made up word) about it.

Watch us wait until the final day of the transfer window when it's too late for a replacement. But it won't be to West Ham, surely Venkys won't want to deal with Sam!

Do the smart thing. Sell them Marcus in disguise. Sam will never know as long as he holds the ball high and long!

I saw a naked man walking down the street giving a woman a piggy back. I asked hm what he was doing and he said he was going to a fancy dress party. "What you going as"?, "a tortoise" he said. "Who's that on your back" I asked. "It's Miichelle"!!
