Hill: Ewood job still tempting

BARNSLEY boss Keith Hill believes the Blackburn Rovers vacancy would still be an attractive job for many managers as he prepares to face his old club today.

Hill said: “On paper, Premier League budget, possibly Premier League players, paying £8m for one player, paying Premier League wages, there’s a lot there a manager would look at and think I’ve got a good canvas to work with.

“But they’re playing Championship football on a Premier League budget and that’s not sustainable.

“I don’t think Steve Kean was doing a bad job but what’s happened since is they’ve given themselves a massive mountain to climb.

“At this moment it does look a little bit farcical.”

Keith Hill ,the only thing tempting about this job is that you could be hired and fired and be able to put your feet up knowing you got good wages for nothing for 3 years , absolute madness as the legend salgado said . 2 people present at the AGM for crying out loud ,there is NO one to run the club , how the hell can anyone work with no tools? I wish Tony Parkes would take the job and bring in his own staff ,at least you know he LOVES the club .Anyone else will see it as a payday .

I said we would win the last 5 but this team is in such a mess I don't see another win coming from anywhere. A fantastic club ruined by who ever let them put pen to paper. Just wish a group of previous players who love the club would get together to help get these fools out. I was reading a news paper article from India and they are even stating what a disgrace they are to India and what fools they are making of the good name of Blackburn Rovers. It hurts me to see my life long club go down the Swanee but I will still be there for the lads NOT those headless chicken breeders!

Are Barnsley even a real club though?

If you listen to Darren Gough on Talksport (he pretends to support Barnsley),yet he has numerous teams he supports including Spurs and MK Dons. He has also deserted Yorkshire and lives down south!

Thats why Lancashire will always win the battle of the roses! We will not desert or run away!

Come on Rovers get the old boys back in the team who really want to play for the club and will battle for us even if they are not 100%fit

I seriously cannot understand football as it is - I constantly find myself having to defend Kean's sacking as the outside world all seem to think Kean was a saint! I'm sick to the stomach of going through it now. I just pray something miraculous would happen although it clearly won't! Going into the heaviest part of the season managerless, coachless and clueless.

You've taken Hill's comments about Kean out of context. He was talking about this season and, to be fair, he's right. Despite awful football we were still picking up points. I'm not saying that Kean would still be getting the results but we were a lot further up the table when he left and that's what Hill is referring to.

Please don't think for one minute that I'm championing Steve Kean's cause, I'm as glad as the next fan that we don't have to listen to any more of his delusional musings or see his lip-licking, crazy eyed face on the TV. However, Singh seems to have surpassed Kean in the 'Narcissistic Personality Disorder' department and that means things will only get worse while he's pulling the strings at Rovers.

Farcical is the word, Shebby Singh's logic is beyond belief. If you do have a clearout then you replace them with better people. Eric Black had a much better CV than the people he is reported to be going for now. Before they appointed Berg he was going for untried Managers just after the experiment with Kean had failed. Also someone is leaking information to the press that should be kept behind closed doors. This man should be removed NOW before he destroys the club and Venky's dream single handed. We will never recover if the club is subject to this kind of logic much longer. Noticed the Action Group is very quiet ( don't want to loose there cosy room at Ewood Park ).

But look at the other teams that were doing well and at the top of the league at that time and look where they are now. Huddersfield were one. They kept their manager and he hasn't continued with that form. It really shows up a numbe football people and fans (Burnley fans particulalry) for having a very shallow understanding of football and how things change. Being 3rd in september says nothing about a manager

I didn't say it did, I was pointing out that Hill's comments were with regards to how Steve Kean was doing in the Championship, not about his short-comings in the Premier League.

That said, you've chosen a team that were doing well but have gone off the boil to emphasise your point. It's just as easy to point to Cardiff and Hull, who have there or thereabouts all season, to argue the difference.

Yes I agree. My point wasnt personal towards you. Just frustration and getting tired of being quoted Kean's finishing position after only a handful of games as though that meant he would continue like that. Its all nonsense. Of all the dire stuff Kean shoved on us and we could all write a thesis on it, the only thing other fans and media quote is our position in the table in a league below the one he started in and just as he resigned
