We would all like to get back to that winning feeling. I certainly don't agree with Black blaming the animosity of the Kean era for the nervousness at Ewood, Kean has gone and good riddance. What is causing the nervousness is what we all recognise, and maybe after a month of p*ss ars*ng about, Singh recognises is that we need an experienced manager and tactician. Get shut of Horrid Hendry and co (just wanted to say that). I personally don't believe any of the hype at the mo and will only believe it when I see it. Just get a manager in who the players and fans will respect.

It's a perfect day for watching football so get yourself down to Ewood and cheer the lads onto 3 more points.Despite the poor performances another 3 points would put us in a handy position for a new manager coming in.

I remember Colin as a player and a leader on the pitch, but those memories are tarnished by recent events. But Hendry is symptomatic of Rovers at the moment and shows that Agnew and Shaw obviously find this acceptable. Jack Walker wouldn't of that I am sure. Certainly agree we need a manager who will rip through the deadwood in the coaching staff but Venkys need to think long and hard about their executive infrastructure because it isn't working.

The proof is in the pudding mr Singh , we shall soon see whether you are true to your words .

Its a nice sunny day today and I'm expecting a good game of football. Can someone tell the boycotting 10000 that BRAG organised that they were supposed to come back when kean got sacked and the boycott is over. After the last 18 months, I can totally understand the continued negativity, but I've been impressed with Black's appraisal of the situation, honest, intelligent and forthright. Everything that Kean wasn't. Nevertheless, many of the comments about Black can't see past the fact he worked for Kean. I'm afraid that the damage caused by Venky's and Kean means that the negativity at Rovers might be terminal and nothing will assuage the fans; except the exit of Venky's, which isn't going to happen any time soon.

Frenchie..I am taking up with some of your more cautious optimism. Nothing like a grounded out 1-0 win in my book. More solid than the 5-3 at Bristol City goalfest!

The first 10mins v Sheff Wed were excellent but it defies belief how Rovers struggled to get out of their own half for the remaining 80mins? The simple ability to hold the ball and find a pass was embarrassing to say the least. A second goal would have calmed things down but it was never going to happen by aimlessly punting the ball to Jordan Rhodes, he's skillful but not a target man. He needs support before the £8m price tag becomes a burden (remember Kevin Davies!)

I protested, I marched and boycotted to rid the club of SK, now I'm back. The only thing that disappoints me is that many have failed to return...

As for atmosphere, that will only improve when we, us the fans, start to see the players giving 110% for 90 mins and looking like they give a f..k about the club and earn their overpaid salaries.
Then the fans will get right behind them and start to make Ewood a fortress again.

Do you mean to say that there are really only 3000 boycotters and the rest were just Premier \League Glory Hunters. Does this mean the dingles were correct and that we are just as small as they are. Or are the boycotters under orders not to return so that Rovers can be bought on the cheap?

Just to illustrate the point trueblue, wednesday night, last 10 minutes, Jason Lowe got a fantastic ovation for the ground he was covering to close down the pposition. (and running past a team mate or two to do it !)

The crowd can see who is putting in a shift and who is hiding.

Maybe setting the team up in a positive manner with two up front and more support for Rhodes would get the fans excited and on the teams side. I have seen nothing to fear in this division so far and in so many games like Leeds, Charlton, Ipswich away we have taken the lead then sat back and got the inevitable draw, when we could have quite easily been sitting top of the league with a little more positive play

Not too many seasons ago it used to be a sight when rovers were not playing too well watching Paul Dickov fly around the pitch closing down defenders and making things happen.
The crowd sees it, roars approval, defenders get nervous and punt it long then we get possession back and attack again.
It's only a little way towards winning a football match but it helps and works.
You've got to start somewhere.
Sourness used to say that once you'd won the midfield battle you controlled the game, it's true and we need to dig in and start doing it.

We should never be expected to sheepishly believe everything that comes out of any owners, especially ones who have demonstrated such incompetence in running a club such as our current procurers. On the flip side, it is also naive on the part of those who believe the great conspiracy of agents and corruption - as if that isn't part of normal business practice!

Even the most ethical of businesses have consultants and agencies that make a mint out of acting as go betweens. Miles Anderson getting a contract because of dad? Hardly newsworthy. Just look at every government and public establishment, from councils to government where family members move up the ladders garnering huge salaries without question let alone hysteria.

On the whole, people like me and you with the "glass half full" philosophies see the much bigger picture than the constant naysayers and doom mongers amongst us.

Can you not get over your obsession with boycotting? Bet you were/are the kind of kid that would never get over somebody nicking your ruler. I went to the end last season. Boycotted after that, renewed when Kean resigned as I said I would. 2 of the 4 in my family havent. They have quickly lost the habit and found other things to do with their money and time. That was the issue Venkys were warned about - losing a generation. Football is a habit and it can be lost. That doesnt mean they were only going for glory. I suppose the new managerial appointment should tell us something about their ambitions, or otherwise, for the club.

Even the most ethical of businesses have consultants and agencies that make a mint out of acting as go betweens. Miles Anderson getting a contract because of dad? Hardly newsworthy. Just look at every government and public establishment, from councils to government where family members move up the ladders garnering huge salaries without question let alone hysteria.

On the whole, people like me and you with the "glass half full" philosophies see the much bigger picture than the constant naysayers and doom mongers amongst us.

No I won't actually because whilst I said I was still attending games and routing for the boys, the amount of abuse I got was like sky news after 9/11. And whilst all the so called boycotters were bigging themselves up on here saying we attenders were the minority the solidarity shown by the boycotters was winning the day. In reality there were only a couple of hundred of them and the rest were just Premier league glory hunters which, as I seem to recall, is exactly what I said they were. So you would have been better to say in your post. RUinsane, we know you are always right as history has proven it so, but will you stop going on about glory hunters. To which I will reply, certainly sir, when the rest stop going on about Agnew Hendry and Singh, I have no problem with that at all. :0). Until then, I am going to be as annoying as they are.

All I would have to do is say that I thought his idea that Ryan giggs should play centre half with ferdinand was astounding and also that Messi doesn't bring a lot to the table as far as being a team player. I think the reasons there are fewer fans and no sponsors down at Ewood Park as nothing to do with BRAG or any organised boycott it is down to lots of individuals being fed up and annoyed at what as happened to our once wonderful club. The Blackburn Rovers I supported for 39 years as been destroyed. I for one do not what anything to do with Venkys Blackburn Rovers. The owners are clueless chicken farmers, a Malaysian TV Pundit making the decisions, no experienced manager, coaching staff who have no idea how to train footballers, a squad of players who are so unfit it beggers believe. Until the owners show some knowledge or interest of how to run a proper football club I cannot see the majority of fans or sponsors returning.

Safe to say anyone who believes Desai is stupid is being naive if not downright foolish. She hasnt presided over a global conglomerate with the turn over it generates without having a little nouse about how business is conducted

That said, to say they have either taken really bad advice or shown massive incompetence in the handling of their tenure at rovers wouldnt be an understatement. The reality is though, Rovers will be a very small fish on the Venkys plate and whilst the relegation and Kean's departure might have caught ntion, its highly doubtful Desai spends much time worrying about matters at the club, let alone how to find more ways of stripping it as the doomies on here often allude to.

Rovers is a brand advertising vehicle to Venkys and not much more. oh sure little brother wanting to own an english club might have a little to do with it, but what Rovers is worth to the owners as a successful premiership club playing and competing against the big clubs far outweighs the millions they could/have stripped from owing Rovers I believe. Its obvious to all that they have made mistakes with employing agents and allowing the likes of Kean to fool them into believing he could deliver success on a budget. Its the premiership stupid, it was created by money and survives because of it. Venkys may have, learned that fact at a cost - shelling out 8m for Rhodes AFTER relegation sure does suggest this - but I still think they have a serious shock coming to them if we ever make it back to the premiership, what winning a title costs in todays money (ask Abramovich and the Qataris!).

Where your pensioner mates wife starts shouting abuse at Hendrys daughter for looking at her at a family function and then her husband rabbit punched Hendry in the back of the head whilst he was talking to friends leaving him on the floor.
