Angry Ramsbottom United boss wants positive response

FUMING Ramsbottom United co-manager Anthony Johnson has blasted his players going into tomorrow’s game at Glossop North End.

The Rams need a win to stay in the play-off frame, but Johnson says huge improvements have to be made following the midweek defeat against Colne.

Johnson pulled no punches at the end of the match at the Riverside, saying some of the players were “conning the managers and conning themselves”.

He added: “They look like they are trying hard but I could ask my four-year-old child to try hard.

"It’s all very well screaming for the ball but what’s the point when you are not in a position to take it.

“People will be leaving this club soon, some sooner than later, as that performances was not acceptable.

“I just don’t have an answer to it but I do know that some players are letting me and the supporters down.”
