Moore to apply for Accrington Stanley job

RONNIE Moore has confirmed that he intends to apply for the vacant managerial position at Accrington Stanley.

The former Tranmere boss left his job as manager of Rotherham last March and his son Ian, the former Burnley striker, trained with Stanley for a period earlier in the season.

"They are a progressive club who just missed out on the play-offs last year and they are chasing promotion again this season," Moore said.

"I know League Two better than most people and my CV is on the way."

Of all the names mentioned outside the present playing staff, I would plump for Moore. He did a great job at Southport on a shoe string and a good job at Rotherham. He knows league two and has the mersey contacts where we get the majority of our players. On top of all that he is a decent approachable guy. You have my vote.
