ACCRINGTON Stanley are considering bringing in a loan signing in time for Saturday’s League Two trip to Barnet after having their transfer embargo lifted.
Stanley boss John Coleman had been prevented from signing a Premier League defender on loan two weeks ago as a delay in meeting the latest monthly payment of around £30,000 to HM Revenue and Customs meant the return of the club’s embargo.
But that tax bill has now been paid and the play-off chasing Reds are contemplating whether to add to their squad as they bid to halt a run of just one win in seven games.
“The embargo has been lifted now,” said assistant manager Jimmy Bell.
“We could bring someone in before Saturday. We have been looking at a defender but we are looking at other areas too.”
