ACCRINGTON Stanley were held to a draw by lowly Macclesfield Town for the second time in a month tonight.

Stanley went into the League Two clash needing all three points in their bid for a play-off place, having drawn 0-0 at Macclesfield during February.

The Reds were without Bobby Grant because of injury but Billy Kee put them in front in the 65th minute.

Macclesfield levelled 13 minutes later, though, as former Stanley trialist Mathew Tipton scored from the spot after Phil Edwards had been controversially penalised for handball.

Stanley: Ian Dunbavin, Tom Lees, Darran Kempson, Phil Edwards, Dean Winnard; Chris Turner, Jimmy Ryan (Luke Joyce 86), Andy Procter, John Miles (Sean McConville 86); Billy Kee, Michael Symes. Subs not used: Dean Bouzanis, Gary King, John Mullin, Peter Murphy, Johnny Flynn.
