ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman is confident there will be more new signings at Accrington Stanley have completed a double striker swoop.

The Reds have signed Akeel Francis on a permanent contract following his release from Rotherham while also bringing in Offrande Zanzala on loan from Championship side Derby County for the rest of the season.

Both will go straight into the squad for tomorrow's League Two trip to Cheltenham and Coleman is not done there with his January business.

"We are looking at all parts," he said. "I wouldn't be too upset if I got another defender, another midfielder and another striker.

"We were left with two out and out strikers in the squad so that wasn't ideal and we still might bring in another one, we have made an inquiry about another one.

"Going into the second half of the season we could benefit from having five strikers and all pushing to score goals.

"We are hoping to finalise a player who has been released in Scotland subject to international clearance and we have one or two more lines that we will look to explore."

Coleman confirmed he was looking to bring in another new face before the weekend, with former Clitheroe, Inverness and Dundee midfielder Danny Williams on the radar, but is pleased with the capture of his two new frontmen.

Francis, 18, has yet to make a Football League appearance but has impressed during a trial at the Wham Stadium while Zanzala has spent brief spells on loan with Stevenage and Chester City and comes with a glowing Pride Park reputation having played a key part in the Rams Under-21 Division 2 title success in 2016 before suffering a ligament injury which halted his progress.

But Coleman will be hoping the 21-year-old, and Francis, can hit the ground running in East Lancashire and the Reds chief is looking forward to watching them play.

Of his new signings Coleman added: "They are both strong runners, they both work very hard and they both want to try and get into goalscoring positions.

"They seem players who are keen to prove a point and keen to score goals and that is what we need at our club."

"It is opportunities that we can provide for these boys. Zanzala is very highly thought of at Derby and Akeel has been training with us for 10 days and he has impressed.

"They offer something different but they are both hungry to score goals which always helps for strikers."
