JOHN Coleman is welcoming the battle for the No.1 jersey at Accrington Stanley.

Aaron Chapman has been in possession of the shirt in recent weeks and has impressed in helping the Reds climb to third in the League Two table ahead of the visit of Barnet tomorrow afternoon.

But Sunderland loanee Max Stryjek has returned to full fitness and took his place on the bench for last weekend’s victory over Crewe.

The Pole made his debut at Morecambe last month just days after signing with the Reds but was forced off through injury after just nine minutes.

Both are now fully fit for the first time since that win over the Shrimps and Coleman is delighted with his keeper conundrum.

“It is crucial to us,” Coleman said of a battle for the gloves.

“Chappy has done well in his (Max’s) absence to be honest, he has done really well. We need two top goalkeepers pushing each other on.”

The Reds boss can call on a fully-fit squad for the visit of the Bees and admits that will mean some tough selection decisions.

“For probably the first time this season we have not got anyone injured,” he added.

“I think this is the strongest squad (at the club) we have had and that is what you get paid for - to make the decisions.”
