ACCRINGTON Stanley midfielder Sean McConville has penned a fresh deal at the Wham Stadium.

The new contract will keep the 28-year-old at Stanley until at least 2019, with the option of a further year.

The Liverpool-born midfielder – who is in his second spell with Stanley – impressed for John Coleman’s side last season, notching up an impressive tally of 17 assists, in his 49 appearances.

He is just three games short of 100 for the club since returning from Chester in 2014, having also played 88 times between 2009 and 2011 before leaving for Stockport County.

He joins teammates Janoi Danocien, Seamus Conneely and Jordan Clark in signing new deals with the club this summer.
