STANLEY boss John Coleman wants his side to cut out the mistakes and get their League Two campaign up and running at Notts County tomorrow.

The Reds travel to face John Sheridan’s side fourth from bottom and without a league win since their opening day defeat of Doncaster.

But the manager insists his side are capable of sparking a run with one victory - and when they click they will ‘batter someone’.

He said: “We’ve got to find a way to win in the league.

“Gradually the players are getting to know each other, so we’ve got accentuate our good points and brush up on our negatives.

“I think we’re capable of going on a run, but you’ve got to get that result.

“We had a great start with beating Doncaster, but we haven’t kicked on from that.

“When we do get it right we are capable of battering someone.”

Stanley took the lead at Carlisle last Saturday through Billy Kee, but were denied the three points by Nicky Adams’ long-range effort.

And Coleman says that shows the main area his side have to improve on.

“You look at the goal Carlisle scored, and from their point of view the lad has bent it in from 20 yards.

“But from our point of view it’s horrendous because he’s run past four of our players.

“That’s disappointing and it’s something we’ve got to iron out.

“You have to show the players how important each aspect of the game is and how, at any given time, it can cost you - like it did on Saturday.”

The trip to Meadow Lane is another tough test for Coley’s men, against a team who have come from behind to win their last three league matches.

“They’re a big club and a good league position waiting to happen,” said Coleman.

“They have a great manager in John Sheridan.

“I know it will be a tough game on Saturday, but he knows my team will give them a tough game as well.

“Our lads are really champing at the bit to produce the performance we know that’s in them, Hopefully, that will come on Saturday.”
