ACCRINGTON Stanley star Josh Windass does not believe the Reds will falter under the promotion pressure as the League Two season reaches a dramatic climax.

John Coleman's side could be promoted to League One on Saturday if they win at Wycombe and either Bristol Rovers fail to win or Oxford lose.

Should Stanley secure three points this weekend and follow it up with a home victory over Stevenage on the final day they will be promoted regardless of other results, with the Reds holding a two point advantage over fourth place.

And Windass, who struck twice as Stanley swept aside York City 3-0 at the Wham Stadium last time out, insists the mood in the camp is relaxed.

“We’re not feeling the pressure,” said Windass, whose weekend brace took him to 16 of the season. “Because we’re not expected to be there I don’t think there is too much pressure.

"We just approach the next game, if we win it then great and if we don’t we’re confident we can win the one after that.”

Windass' goals mean the frontman is now just one shy of striker Billy Kee's 17 for the season in the Stanley top scorer stakes but the 22-year-old, who will join Scottish side Rangers in the summer on a free transfer, is happy for anyone to grab the goals as long as the results keep coming.

“None of us are really bothered about finishing top scorer, as long as we get promoted," Windass told the club's official website.

"Naz the kit man can come on and get 20 goals as long as we go up!

“The job’s not done. If you’d said to us before the start of the season we’d be guaranteed a play-off place with three games to go we would’ve taken your hand off so to be second with two games to go is unbelievable.”
