ACCRINGTON Stanley are waiting to find out the full extent of Matt Crooks' ankle injury, but he is almost certainly out of tomorrow night's game with Wycombe.

Crooks limped off towards the end of the first half in Stanley's 2-1 win over Plymouth at the weekend.

“He’s had a scan on it and we’re waiting for a result on that, but I would say he’s out for tomorrow," said Reds boss John Coleman.

“We’ll know the full extent when we get the scan."

Scott Brown replaced Crooks on Saturday, but he suffered a kick to the face and Coleman said he 'looks like he's been in a war' from those marks.

There is better news on Josh Windass, and the 11-goal attacking midfielder is likely to be back in contention for Saturday's trip to Dagenham and Redbridge, while defender Dean Winnard is ready for a return but is waiting on the go ahead from the surgeon after a chest injury.

“Josh has gone back to St George’s this week and I’m really hopeful he’s going to be available for the weekend," said Coleman.

“Dean’s good to go he just needs to get signed off but the surgeon won’t sign him off until the end of the month so it’s a case of just sitting and suffering."

On-loan Huddersfield defender Joe Wright is unlikely to be back before the end of the campaign though, but striker Terry Gornell is making better than expected progress on an ankle injury.

“We’ll be lucky to get Joe back before the end of the season," Coleman said of the youngster's knee injury. "Dean coming back into contention will help with that.

“Terry’s doing a lot better, he’s a week or two away. When I saw the size of his ankle I feared he was out for the season."
