ACCRINGTON Stanley loan star Brad Halliday has not ruled out the possibility of remaining at the club until the end of the season after revealing he is loving life at the Wham Stadium.

The defender joined the Reds on loan from Middlesbrough last month and this week extended that deal until January 2.

But the 20-year-old, who has been an ever-present in the Stanley line-up since making his debut against AFC Wimbledon, is open to remaining with John Coleman’s promotion-chasing side until the summer.

“I have really enjoyed it,” Halliday told the club’s official website. “Even though we lost to Wimbledon I could see that I had come to a good team and a good set-up and since that game we have been flying.

“I want to continue playing and I would love to be part of Accrington’s push for promotion.

“I will do my best until January and then see if there is the possibility of staying until the end of the season.”

Prior to joining Stanley, Halliday spent time on loan at Hartlepool, who the Reds face in their next home game, while last season he enjoyed a temporary spell at York City.

The youngster will hope to face the Minstermen a week on Saturday in Stanley’s colours having already featured in the FA Cup tie which Coleman’s side won 3-2.

“I am looking forward to both of them,” said Halliday of the clashes against his old sides. “I had good times at York. It was my first loan club and I won the Young Player of the Year award there and the fans were great with me.

“When we scored against York in the FA Cup, I didn’t know whether to celebrate. Then I was at Hartlepool and it’s just down the road from where I am from.”
