ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman will be preaching concentration to his players as they bid to upset another of League Two’s top teams when they travel to title-chasing Wycombe tonight.

The Reds have already beaten leaders Burton and promotion-chasing Southend, as well as earning points with Shrewsbury Town and the Chairboys in the reverse fixture in December.

But Stanley were beaten 3-0 by leaders Burton last time out where Coleman was left to rue lapses in concentration.

And he is keen to avoid a repeat at Adams Park tonight.

“We compete with the top teams all the way and most of the time it is down to an individual mistake,” said the Reds boss.

“We’ve got to iron them out. The quicker we do the quicker we will get the results our performances merit.

“It is difficult to coach concentration and it is difficult to coach not making individual mistakes. We have got to hammer home to the players to concentrate and what the rewards will be if we do which, the way we play, will be to probably win games.”

Stanley travel south in 15th place in the League Two table, 12 points off the play-offs and 10 points clear of the bottom two.

But Coleman is still targeting a strong finish to the campaign and does not believe his side are far from challenging the better sides.

He added: “There is very little between a lot of teams in the league.

“It is consistency and with consistency comes belief and we have got to try and be like that.”

Stanley will travel without midfielder Andy Procter who is out through injury, while Anthony Barry is still suspended but Piero Mingoia is fit despite dislocating his shoulder in the defeat at Burton.

And Coleman, who will come up against two of his former Stanley players tonight in Peter Murphy and Joe Jacobson, knows his side face a tough test against Gareth Ainsworth’s men.

Coleman added: “Wycombe work really hard, they have come back from losing positions on several occasions. We know we’ve got the ability to compete.”
