ACCRINGTON Stanley manager John Coleman has revealed he is considering switching today’s training session from this morning to tonight, in order to prepare his players for their Friday night fixture with Exeter City.

The Reds host Paul Tisdale’s side tomorrow, on the eve of the weekend programme, in the hope of not only stealing a march on their push for the top seven, but also with the aim of boosting the crowd.

Fans of other teams are being encouraged to support Stanley with the offer of a reduced ticket price of £15 for adults, and £10 for concessions, for a supporter of any alternative English, Welsh or Scottish league club who turns up to the Store First Stadium for the 7pm kick-off wearing their team’s shirt and scarf.

Asked if the unorthodox kick-off had affected preparations in any way, Coleman said: “Slightly.

“I did toy with the idea of training at night and I still might to be honest.

“It’s the same for both teams and you just have to prepare yourselves right.”

Coleman explained the emphasis had been on building on their last two results – a 2-1 FA Cup first round replay win over Notts County, when they came back from behind to beat the League One side, and Saturday’s 2-1 home win over Cambridge as his side look to close the gap on the play-offs.

Stanley have the chance to leapfrog ninth placed Exeter and move to within a point of seventh spot.

“ Our focus has been on hard work,” said Coleman.

“It was a great performance on Saturday and the tendency then is to bask in your glory and maybe ease off the gas, but we don’t want to be like that.

“We had an intense session on Monday and Wednesday and then we’ll taper down towards the game on Friday.

“But we’ve got to play at full throttle.

“We’re really at our best when we play that way and when we dictate the terms and the pace of the game we are capable of beating anyone at home.”
