ACCRINGTON Stanley would be interested in bringing Adam Buxton back to the club next season after extending the defender’s loan until the end of the current campaign.

Buxton has started eight games since joining Stanley on loan from Wigan Athletic last month, first in his natural position of right back but then at left back to cover for the injured Laurence Wilson.

Wilson is now fit again but Buxton is likely to retain his place in the side after impressing Beattie, who will speak to Wigan boss Uwe Rosler about the possibility of bringing the 21-year-old back next season.

“It’s something we’ll look at, I’ll speak to Adam and I’ll speak to Uwe and we’ll try to work on something which is amicable all parties,” Beattie said.

“If that’s something that can happen, bringing players of Adam’s quality to the club, I’d be over the moon.

“He’s done extremely well since he came in and I think with his ball control and his passing he could maybe play a number of positions, we’re not just looking at the full back positions.”

Buxton added: “I’m just taking every game as it comes and then we’ll see what happens next year.

“But I’ve enjoyed it massively here and I’m made up to extend it until the end of the season.”
