DID last Tuesday night’s demolition of Morecambe really happen or was it all a dream?

I am still pinching myself at the 5-1 smashing of the Shrimps.

We blew them away as our decade of dominance over Morecambe continues for yet another season.

The three points propelled us up the league and the five goals did wonders for our goal difference.

However I think Stanley will win enough games to secure League status without the need to count up the goals for and against columns.

One of the heroes of the past few months has been the ever-present Tom Aldred, a colossus at the back for the Reds who now, thanks to his late equaliser on Saturday, has two goals in two games.

If we paid Tom on defensive headers won the club would be bankrupt. He is a massive part of why the Reds are clear of the drop zone and if he keeps on scoring then I am sure bigger clubs will come looking at him.

He is not on his own when it comes to impressive displays and the way James Beattie has moulded his players once again had the rumour mill churning with news of other clubs sniffing around our manager.

James has shown his affinity to Accrington on more than one occasion and his loyalty is unquestionable.

I am looking forward to the victory pint with him next season after we gain promotion!
