Accrington Stanley 5 Morecambe 1

This Is Lancashire: Lee Molyneux completes the rout last night Lee Molyneux completes the rout last night

Accrington Stanley rose to 15th in the League Two table after a 5-1 derby demolition of rivals Morecambe.

Lee Molyneux got Stanley off to the perfect start with an early strike before Kal Naismith added a second from the penalty spot with just 10 minutes on the clock.

Second half headers from centre back pairing Dean Winnard and Tom Aldred made it 4-0 just after the hour mark.

Former Stanley striker Padraig Amond reduced the deficit six minutes from time but Molyneux still had time to add his second and his side's fifth to seal the success.

The result leaves James Beattie's side six points clear of the bottom two.

Absolutely fabulous result guys. I'm a Claret but being in Bash I have a great fondness for Stanley (even go there occasionally). All the very best for the rest of the season, you certainly don't deserve to be fighting relegation. In fact, but for your truly awful start you could have been having a serious go at the play-offs.

This is a terribly short report of the Stanley match. Why didn't the Telegraph have a reporter at the match? Stanley have been improving all season. The next problem will be to stop other clubs poaching Mr Beattie.

Great result and Morecambe, I'm afraid ,got absoultely what they deserved. A walloping. Their spoiling tactics in this game and the way they conspired to get the original game abandoned after having a player sent off did nothing to enhance the reputation of Morecmbe FC. Oh, and the band of numbnuts who travelled with them got silenced too, in the best possible way. Well done you reds, I'm still grinning from ear to ear

It is a very short report on the game which is some what insulting to the readers. This game deserved a better coverage than it has recieved from the media. I would urge the ultra's to turn in the clown who let the flare off, as an asthmatic you have no idea the distress you caused. It would also help if you chanted some different songs which are in better taste than some of the filth that drags our club down. otherwise it is a great little club that needs the townsfolk to come along and be part of it.
