Danny Webber's Accrington Stanley column

WITH two big home games coming up it is important for us all to look forward and not dwell on the last two.
We have suffered some hard-luck stories this season, and there was another in defeat at Burton Albion on Saturday with the award of a dubious penalty to the home side.
That’s two losses in a row now, but we have two home games to put it right and that’s what we must look to do.
Saturday’s visit of leaders Chesterfield won’t be easy, but it will be a good measure of how far we’ve come in our development, before the re-match with Morecambe on Tuesday night.
A derby is always something to look forward to - as Blackburn Rovers and Burnley fans will tell you ahead of their meeting this weekend I’m sure.
There seem to be quite a lot in this division for us - with Bury, Rochdale and Fleetwood as well.
But Morecambe’s the big one of us. We have an excellent record against in recent years, which made it all the more disappointing when that game was abandoned with the Shrimps down to 10 men.
However, while we are looking forward to that re-match we have to deal with Chesterfield first.
I have a personal score to settle having got injured the last time we played them in September, pulling my hamstring.
But in the 40 minutes I played you could tell they were one of the better sides in the division with the way they try to play football.
Obviously I wasn’t here under the reign of Paul Cook or Leam Richardson, but those who were speak really highly of them both.
It should be a good game of football, rather than a wrestling match as some of these games are, and on a surface that hasn’t suffered too much for the weather thanks to the good work of Buzzer our groundsman.
He has done really well with the pitch all year, but especially at this time of year he’s worked his magic.
Hopefully we can use the surface well to get some much-needed home wins under our belt, start seeing games out, and start climbing the table again.
