ACCRINGTON Stanley slipped to 21st position in League Two after defeat at Graham Alexander’s Fleetwood Town.

Earlier in the day Stanley had confirmed the return of Kayode Odejayi, with the striker rejoining the club on loan from Rotherham until the end of the season, as had been expected.

Odejayi impressed during a temporary spell in the first half of the campaign and went straight into the starting line-up in place of George Bowerman.

But James Beattie’s side fell behind after only six minutes as Jon Parkin, who scored a hat-trick for Fleetwood at the Store First Stadium last season, found the roof of the net.

The Reds then lost Nicky Hunt to injury and fell 2-0 behind in the 58th minute when David Ball converted Antoni Sarcevic’s cross at the far post.

Odejayi headed Stanley back into contention when he made it 2-1 with nine minutes to go but Danny Carr added a third for Fleetwood deep into stoppage time.

Stanley: Andrew Dawber, Nicky Hunt (Josh Windass 33), Dean Winnard, Tom Aldred, Michael Liddle, Michael Richardson, Luke Joyce, Peter Murphy, Piero Mingoia (Will Hatfield 65), Kal Naismith (Shay McCartan 65), Kayode Odejayi. Subs not used: Rob Atkinson, Laurence Wilson, James Gray, Danny Webber.
