ACCRINGTON Stanley were held to a goalless draw by relegation rivals Torquay United in this afternoon’s League Two clash at the Store First Stadium.
Lee Molyneux – Stanley’s two-goal hero in their 3-0 win at Rochdale on Tuesday - saw two free kicks kept out by Torquay keeper Michael Poke in the first half.
Rommy Boco also saw his rebound saved on the first occasion, and the Reds had the better of the half.
Torquay went close at the start of the second period when Billy Bodin fired over before Elliot Benyon’s header was cleared off the line by Boco.
The Reds thought they had won it late on when substitute Will Hatfield found the net after Boco’s shot had been parried, but the flag was raised for offside.
The result kept Stanley 22nd in League Two, a point above the relegation zone.
