FULL TIME: Accrington Stanley 0 Dagenham and Redbridge 2

ACCRINGTON Stanley were unable to build on their New Year’s Day victory over Chesterfield as they were beaten by Dagenham and Redbridge in League Two this afternoon.

Stanley, who went into the game without the injured Nicky Hunt, fell behind in the 21st minute when Medy Elito crossed from the left and Matthew Saunders headed past keeper Cameron Belford.

The Reds then lost Padraig Amond to injury and created few opportunities before Dagenham doubled their lead seven minutes after half time.

This time Saunders was the provider, pulling the ball back for Luke Howell to fire in off the far post.

Not a good day for team or fans but still confident that Leam & the lads can turn this around. Our next home game v Wimbledon is only a fiver admission - let's hope the club get the message out there about this & we get a decent crowd on - if we put in a good performance, some of them may even come back for more - we need to somehow attract the floating supporters because how can we survive on gates like yesterday's?

At least Chesterfield lost - that's what's really important to Stanley fans it would seem.
