Accrington Stanley braced for Chesterfield approach for Cook

ACCRINGTON Stanley are today bracing themselves for an official approach from Chesterfield for manager Paul Cook.

Sources suggest the Spireites are expected to make their move today as they search for a new boss to replace John Sheridan.

Chesterfield were impressed by the attacking football Stanley played in a 4-3 defeat at the Proact Stadium last month, and Cook may be tempted by the prospect of a bigger budget with the Derbyshire club.

But Chesterfield must approach Stanley and await their response before they can open talks with the 45-year-old.

He's probably disappointed with the attendances at Accy and consequently the playing budget but he's only just begun to shape the squad he wants and I wouldn't expect him to leave just now.
