Preston have secured the signing of Oldham Athletic defender Neal Trotman on a three-year-deal.
North End beat off stiff competition from other clubs for the 20-year-old to seal a £500,000 deal plus various add-ons.
Trotman started his career with Burnley but was released aged 18, and joined Oldham.
He could make North End's squad for the match against Norwich City on Saturday.
