FULL-TIME: Burnley 1, Blackpool 0

CHARLIE Austin's first-half header proved enough to give bragging rights to Burnley on derby day.

Austin scored his 16th of the season – with at least one goal in each of his last seven games – to secure a 1-0 win for the managerless Clarets.

Lee Grant did his bit at the other end with a superb double save in the second half, tipping Alex Baptiste's header onto the post and blocking Gary Taylor-Fletcher's follow-up as Blackpool piled on the pressure in search of an equaliser.

But Burnley, who had youth coach Terry Pashley in caretaker charge following the departure of Eddie Howe, held firm to secure only their second clean sheet of the season, again in a derby, following the opening day win and shut-out against Bolton.
