SUMMER signing Brian Stock could be in contention for his first start when Burnley entertain Brighton Saturday.
The midfielder, who scored the winning penalty against Plymouth to fire the Clarets into the Capital One Cup third round, came through the full 120 minute unscathed.
Charlie Austin was replaced by Sam Vokes 10 minutes into the second half of normal time, but only as a precaution after picking up a controversial booking.
Striker Martin Paterson has missed the last three games with a slight hamstring tear.
The injury, sustained in the opening day win over Bolton, is not thought to be a long-term problem so he will be assessed with a view to making the squad on Saturday.
“We've had the scans so we know he's not going to be long,” said Burnley boss Eddie Howe.
“Whether it's Saturday we'll wait and see, we're doing our best to get him fit.”
