Clarets swoop for keeper Grant

Brian Laws has swooped on his former club Sheffield Wednesday to capture goalkeeper Lee Grant.

The 27 year-old, who was regarded as one of the best keepers in the Championship last season, has agreed a three- year deal at Turf Moor for an undisclosed fee, subject to paperwork.

The former England Under 21 international is known to have enjoyed working under Laws and goalkeeper coach Billy Mercer, who moved to Turf Moor at the turn of the year.

They probably had pages of negative stuff already typed up in the expectation Grant would turn Burnley down and go to another club. An afternoon's typing wasted! :-)

Nothing from NiceOneShunshine either. Perhaps they are transfixed to the screen waiting to see if Darwen Rovers can actually win a game in Australia. Hope Sydney FC give them a thrashing. BFS may then want to leave in three weeks and not three years. "They're Doomed, I tell yee, Doomed" And thank your mother for the rabbits.

Excellent signing - at least Laws had the good sense to realise he would have been signing his own death warrant by starting the season with Fatty Jensen in goal.
