CLARETS Trust bosses have urged the Turf Moor faithful to revive the spirit of the promotion campaign as Burnley battle relegation from the Premier League.
Trust chairman Peter Pike, the former Burnley MP, has spoken out after national newspaper speculation over boss Brian Laws’ future.
Clarets chairman Barry Kilby has insisted everyone is behind Laws in the fight to climb above Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Ham and Wigan to safety.
And Mr Pike is adamant only a united front during the run-in will keep the Turf Moor dream alive.
He said: “Last season the fans’ support, particularly in the latter stages, was a crucial element in winning promotion to the Premier, and making a dream come true.
“All of us at Reading and Wembley will never forget those two games.
“We know we now have a tough fight to secure our second season and if we achieve that we will be in a better financial position.”
Mr Pike said the trust backed the players ‘100 per cent’ and he urged fans to be the club’s ‘12th man’ until the end of the season.
