BRIAN Laws is aiming to make Burnley get dressed for success and boost their survival hopes at Wigan today.

The Clarets boss has been tinkering with the Clarets’ pre-match preparations in a desperate attempt to cure their travel sickness.

Aside from hard work on the training ground, Laws has looked at everything from accommodation, nutrition and travel. But now he’s turning his attentions to fashion, hoping that if Burnley dress up, they can give their relegation rivals a dressing down.

“We’ve not pinpointed one thing, we’re just changing small things, how we go to a game, how we approach it, how we eat, when we eat,” Laws said.

“You’re always asking yourself questions about whether you could do things differently.

“We’re all superstitious people. I’ve changed my tie, my socks. I’m not saying it’s going to change your results – is it heck – but in your mindset it might just freshen things up.

“We might go collar and tie, as though we’re at home.”

Laws, though, won’t be taking a leaf out of former manager Brian Clough’s book.

“Cloughie would stick a bottle of whisky in front of you,” he said.

“I’m definitely not doing that one!”
