WEMBLEY DATE: Burnley's trip to Tottenham is to be rearranged due to the Rugby League Challenge Cup final
BURNLEY'S trip to Wembley to face Tottenham on the third weekend of the Premier League season will need to be rescheduled due to the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final.
Spurs have confirmed discussions between the two clubs are taking place over a new date for the fixture, which was originally pencilled in for Saturday, August 26.
But Rugby League's showpiece final is already scheduled for Wembley on that date, meaning the Clarets' trip to face Mauricio Pochettino's side will have to be moved.
Spurs' official Twitter account said: "Burnley (H) Aug 26 is the same day as the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final and will need to be rescheduled. We are currently in discussions with Burnley on this matter."
