THERE may appear to be little riding on the outcome of Burnley's final day clash with West Ham at Turf Moor.

Both clubs are safe and the Turf Moor showdown could well have an end of season feel about it, especially with the Clarets celebrating a successful season back in the top flight.

But the directors of both clubs could be forgiven for inserting a little extra urgency into proceedings given the prize money that could be up for grabs in a congested Premier League table.

The Clarets head into the game in 15th, a finishing position that would earn them £11.4million this season. But a win could see them catapulted as high as 11th, while defeat may leave them in 17th, and with £1.9million on offer for each place the sums soon add up.

That leaves Burnley playing for a possible £11.4million on Sunday, with £19million up for grabs for the side who finishing 11th, and a measly £7.4million on the table for a 17th place finish.

But the money is of secondary important to Sean Dyche, who just wants his side to go all out for a final day win to see how high they can finish this season, having already secured Premier League safety relatively comfortably.

"It’s not just the money, it’s finish as high up the table as we can," the Clarets chief said. "We’ve only been in the bottom three once and that was after the first game of the season.

"We’ve been looking up every weekend really. It would be great to finish with a win, everyone wants that, but also to see where the table ends up."
