BURNLEY'S place in the Premier League for 2017/18 has been officially confirmed after Hull City were beaten at Crystal Palace.
The Clarets were already as good as safe thanks to their goal difference advantage over the Tigers, but Marco Silva's side's failure to win at Selhurst Park today means they have been relegated with Middlesbrough and Sunderland.
Hull needed to win both of their final two games of the season, hope Burnley lose to West Ham next weekend and find an 18 goal swing against the Clarets.
But they fell at the first hurdle of that target, losing 4-0 to Palace.
It means Burnley will have a second successive season of top flight football for the first time since 1974/75 and 75/76.
