Tom Heaton 7

Not much he could do for the goals and made some good saves aside from that.

Matt Lowton 7

Another solid display and put in one excellent first half cross, which Vokes and Brady just missed out on.

Michael Keane 8

Very confident first half display, especially in possession. Turned by Lukaku for the third goal though.

Ben Mee 7

Unlucky with deflection for second goal. Good defensively but passing out a bit wayward.

Stephen Ward 7

Covered well from left back but not as influential going forward as recent weeks.

George Boyd 6

Came inside a lot to try and compete numerically with Everton in centre. Limited contribution offensively.

Joey Barton 8 (Man of the Match)

Best performance in a while for the boyhood Evertonian who would have been desperate to impress at Goodison Park. Covered a lot of ground and while his passing wasn’t perfect he was heavily involved throughout.

Jeff Hendrick 7

Overshadowed by Barton but had his moments and competed well in a crowded midfield.

Robbie Brady 7

Looking better by the week. Putting some dangerous balls in and looked a threat down the left.

Ashley Barnes 6

Struggled to exert his usual physicality on the game and therefore didn’t really influence proceedings.

Sam Vokes 7

Should probably have scored in the first half but showed courage to take the penalty he won and made no mistake.
