MICHAEL Keane insists ‘it’s great to be a part’ of Burnley’s continued success after he highlighted the draw with Premier League leaders Chelsea as the latest sign of the Clarets upward mobility.

Burnley held the Blues to a hard fought draw with £13million man Robbie Brady scoring the goal on his first start for the club.

The deadline day deal for Brady was the third time in less than six months that the club have broken their transfer record, while the 1-1 draw against Antonio Conte’s side made it eight unbeaten at Turf Moor, with six of those in the league, their longest unbeaten home top flight run in 42 years.

“It’s a sign of how we’ve been doing on the pitch over the last few years,” Keane said of the Brady deal.

“The whole club is growing, we’re moving in to a new training ground in March, we’re making £13m, £10m and £8m signings. This club has never done that before.

“The club is growing and heading in the right direction and it’s great to be a part of it.”

Things are going well on the pitch for the Clarets as well and of the draw with the table toppers, Keane added: “I think it shows how far we’ve come.

“We didn’t look frightened to play against them and we matched them in every department. It shows that belief that we’ve got and we need to keep that going forward.”

Keane had one of the best views in the house of Brady’s stunning equaliser.

The 24-year-old was stood on halfway as the Republic of Ireland international as he curled his free-kick beyond the grasp of Thibaut Courtois.

“I was right behind it and he’s struck it right in the top corner. No keeper is going to save that,” said Keane.

“It showed what he’s all about, the quality that he’s got and he showed what he can bring to the team.

“He can put a great cross in as well. Hopefully throughout the rest of the season he’ll get us a few more goals and assists.”

Keane could benefit from Brady’s set-piece delivery and he’s looking forward to trying to add more goals to his game.

“You know he’s going to put a good ball in,” added Keane who has scored just once so far this season.

“You know if you make the right run and get away from your man it could fall to you.

“When it goes in to the front post and hits the first man it gets frustrating when you’re coming up from the back but when you’ve got somebody who can deliver it like him then you’ve got a better chance.

“They probably got a bit of money back already. That’s just the start for Robbie; he said himself that there’s a lot more to come and we feel there is.

“Westy (Ashley Westwood) deserves a special mention as well because I thought he was brilliant in there, worked really hard and kept it ticking well. I thought they were both brilliant.
