BURNLEY will relish taking on runaway Premier League leaders Chelsea, according to defender Michael Keane.

The Clarets put their stellar home record to the ultimate test against Antonio Conte’s side, but Keane insists they fear no-one at Turf Moor.

Burnley go into Sunday’s game aiming for an eighth successive home win in league and cup and looking to make it 10 Premier League wins on their own patch this season.

But the Blues have lost just three league games all campaign and only once since September, and they are nine points clear at the summit.

“We’re really looking forward to it,” said former Manchester United youngster Keane.

“They’re flying at the top of the league, they’ve got some world class players, but it’s challenges like that which the team relish especially at Turf Moor in front of our own fans.

“We’ve been brilliant this year and they’ll know that they’re in for a tough game. Hopefully we can give it to them.”

The Clarets have lost three of their last 28 games at Turf Moor, all by just one goal. Manchester City and Arsenal are the most recent teams to come away with all three points, but City were given a scare when Dean Marney gave Burnley the lead, while the Gunners needed a controversial late Laurent Koscielny winner to grab victory.

Recent Turf Moor performances have given the squad increased confidence and Keane believes Burnley can give anyone a game on their own patch.

“We’re confident of beating anyone,” the 24-year-old said. “Every time we step out on to that pitch we think we’re going to win, we’re going to beat whoever we play against.

“Chelsea are a different class to what we’ve played at Turf Moor this season but with our confidence there’s no reason why we can’t go and cause an upset.”

Burnley have already beaten the defending champions Leicester City at home, as well as top seven sides Liverpool and Everton, but Keane accepts the visit of Conte’s men will be a step up.

“The league table suggests that it will be,” he said. “It’s one that we’ll relish, we’ll look forward to it, because these are the games that you want when you’re in the Premier League.

“We’ve proven that we belong here so far so we just need to keep going and not rest.

“I thought they were the best side earlier in the season, even before they went on this unbelievable run.

“At Stamford Bridge I thought they were really good, particularly in the first half, and they’ve shown that consistency as well which is why they’re top of the league. There’s no reason why we can’t upset them though.”

Chelsea’s talisman this season has been striker Diego Costa, now back in the side and in the goals after a brief flirtation with a mega money move to China.

And Keane is ready for a battle with the fiery frontman.

“It’s always a tough game against him,” said Keane. “He’s got great movement and he’s aggressive with his runs but we’ve been doing well defensively.

“Obviously it’s going to be tough because there isn’t just him to focus on.”

“They have other players but hopefully we can keep them quiet. We just need to keep our unit together, as we always do, especially at home, and defend well one v one against him.”
