BEN Mee insists Burnley will take the game to Premier League leaders Chelsea when they visit Turf Moor on Sunday.

Antonio Conte's side are turning the title race into a procession at the moment and they will pose the toughest examination yet of of the Clarets home form this weekend.

But having won seven game in a row at Turf Moor in league and cup and secured nine Premier League wins at home this season Burnley are confident in front of their own fans.

Mee is expecting a test against a side who ran out 3-0 winners when the teams met at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season, but said the Clarets will look to play on the front foot.

"It’s going to be a test," the 27-year-old said. "They’re going to be top of the table for some time.

"There’ll be champions so we’ll have our hands full and it should be a good game.

"We’ll take the game to anyone that comes to our place."

The first Premier League appearance of Mee's career came in Burnley's opener to the 2014/15 campaign when they were beaten 3-1 at Turf Moor by Chelsea.

He has played a further 56 games in the top flight since then, moving from left-back to centre back in the process, and believes he and the club have come a long way since that August 2014 fixture.

"It’s come a long way since I’ve been here," he said. "It keeps moving forward and forward. It’s great to be a part of that and hopefully we can take it even further."

Burnley's seven successive Turf Moor wins have included a run of five in the league, the first time they have achieved such a feat in the top division since 1966.

"It’s another record we are getting rid of recently and we will keep going and aiming to do well of course," said Mee.

"There’s something about it (Turf Moor). "There’s just a good feeling around the place and the boys are confident and to be fair we are playing well away from home too. We can look at that positively."
