Captained Burnley for the first time in his 194th appearance, against his former club. Good interception on Sterling but mix-up with Ward for goal.

Given a real tough time by the pace of Sterling until he made way for Sane. Involved in the mix-up for second City goal.

JB Gudmundsson 7

Looked lively before his afternoon was ended early by injury. Tested Bravo and took up some good positions.

Steven Defour 7

Looking as fit as he’s been for Burnley so far. Made some good runs in the second half but wasted a free-kick.

George Boyd 7

Heavily involved early on, perhaps keen to make a point on return. Showed a remarkable work rate to track City’s runners all afternoon.

Made his first goal in over three years a memorable one with a stunning finish. Best player in his 40 minutes on the pitch.

Should have had a penalty but struggled to impose himself on his game. Doesn’t seem to have fully settled into team just yet.

Sam Vokes 6

Tough afternoon for the striker, who had to work hard for every scrap he could but got some joy in the air against Otamendi and Kolarov.
