BURNLEY have to find their feet away from home, according to boss Sean Dyche.

The Clarets suffered a fourth defeat in five Premier League away games at the hands of West Brom on Monday night.

That 4-0 loss at The Hawthorns means Burnley have conceded 13 goals in those games, scoring just once through Sam Vokes’ penalty at Southampton.

Their only point came in a backs-to-the-wall effort at Manchester United.

Dyche admitted he was disappointed with his side’s performance in the Midlands, and said the first step to improvements on the road was turning in better displays.

“Performance is really important,” he said. “I was actually looking for a performance as the main thing on Monday.

“Away from home we’ve got to start with performance, it doesn’t guarantee a result but if you’re performing well you’ve got a better chance.”

Burnley have begun the season with a tough set of fixtures on the road.

They were beaten 3-0 at Chelsea and champions Leicester City, before the 3-1 defeat at St Mary’s and the goalless draw at Old Trafford.

They have won four games at home this season, taking 13 of their 14 points at Turf Moor, including victories over Liverpool and Everton.

“We haven’t really found our feet away from home at all and some of that is down to the opposition,” said Dyche.

“Not taking anything away from Tony [Pulis] and his group but we know we’re better than that.

“We’ve showed a much better view of what we’re about at home and we have to get better away from home.”
