IT'S hard to think of Saturday's Turf Moor fixture without letting out a little chuckle at Djimi Traore's own goal for the ages in the 2005 FA Cup third round tie.

While Burnley's Premier League record against Liverpool isn't great, they did come on top in that memorable cup clash, which came in the same year that the Reds were crowned champions of Europe.

On a wild and windy Tuesday night at Turf Moor the game was settled when Traore managed to Cruyff-turn the ball into his own net from Richard Chaplow's cross.

It was no more than the Clarets deserved. They could easily have been ahead at half time but for Jerzy Dudek's saved from Chaplow and Micah Hyde.

Gary Cahill also headed narrowly over for Burnley before Liverpool's Antonio Nunez saw red late in the game for a clash with Tony Grant.
