BURNLEY striker Andre Gray admits the Clarets’ promotion to the Premier League may only sink in when the fixture list is revealed tomorrow morning.

The Premier League will be releasing fixtures for the 2016/17 season at 9am, a week ahead of the Football League fixtures.

Burnley will find out who they will be facing on the opening day of their third top flight campaign in seven years, as well as pencilling in dates for huge fixtures with the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal.

For Gray it will be the moment he realises just how far he has come, having been playing Conference football with Luton Town just two seasons ago.

His trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal in last season’s FA Cup fourth round was Gray’s first taste of a big stadium, and he’s looking forward to many more next season.

“When the fixtures come out and you see all the big away days, I think it will sink in then,” said the Championship’s top scorer.

“I can’t wait. I’m going to relax and enjoy the summer, but when we come back for pre-season it will really sink in and we’ll check the fixtures.”

Gray has proved well worth the investment as Burnley’s club record signing last August.

He hit 23 Championship goals for the Clarets, and his two for Brentford before his initial £6million switch to Turf Moor meant he finished the season with 25 goals and a Championship winners medal as Burnley won the title.

Now the 24-year-old can look forward to completing his rapid rise through the leagues and hitting the elite level next season, and the chance to test himself against some of the finest players on the planet.

“I’m looking forward to everything,” he said of Burnley’s return to the Premier League.

“I think your going to be a bit star struck every week because personally I’ve never played against those kind of players until Arsenal this season.

“To be playing against world class players every week, who have won the World Cup and Champions League, is going to be crazy.”

There is plenty of intrigue for Burnley fans in tomorrow’s fixture list. A reunion with Jose Mourinho, now at Old Trafford, after his criticism of Ashley Barnes following the clash with Nemanja Matic at Chelsea, and meetings with former players in Kieran Trippier, now at Tottenham, and Danny Ings, at Liverpool.

But there is no particular fixture that Gray has his sights set on.

“I’ve only played at the Emirates in the Premier League so it’s all going to be a new experience for me personally. I’ve not got my eye on any in particular,” he said.
