DEFENDER James Tarkowski could be in line to return to Burnley’s matchday squad for tomorrow’s derby fixture at Preston.

The 23-year-old suffered a tight groin in training on Monday and missed out on the Clarets’ 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough at Turf Moor on Tuesday night.

He had made his first appearance since the end of February when he come on as a late substitute in the 2-1 win over Birmingham on Saturday and could be back on the bench at Deepdale tomorrow having trained with the rest of the squad today.

“Tarky missed out on Tuesday but we said it was minor and we think that’s the case,” said Dyche. “He's been on the grass today so he’ll be back in the thinking.”

Meanwhile Lukas Jutkiewicz featured for a full 90 minutes in a behind-closed-doors game on Tuesday as he works his way towards full fitness after suffering a cruciate knee ligament injury at Bristol City back in August.

“It was fantastic for Juke. He got his first 90,” said the Clarets chief.
