A CROWD of just short of 60,000 saw Burnley give a great performance in the FA Cup fourth round against the holders Arsenal.

The manager must have been very pleased with his team as he recalled losing 3-0 the last time we played there in the league.

As well as being a great centre forward he, as a person, was a lovely man, who always had time to speak to the ground staff and the youngsters and ask how they had got on in their games.

I was one of them and I cleaned his boots every day. When it came to Christmas he would give me a £5 note inside a Christmas card.

Rest in peace Ray, you were well loved by many.
